America’s Wars in the Age of Obama

America’s Wars in the Age of Obama by Stephen L. Carter, Beast Books, 255 p.

Stephen L. Carter, a professor of law at Yale as well as a successful novelist, has written a book about “just war” theory in which he concludes that Barack Obama, a president he clearly admires, has prosecuted the war on terror with no more regard for the theory’s ancient principles than George W. Bush (whom many of Carter’s readers no doubt consider a war criminal).

Baseless Rumor of Illness of the Mullah Omar

The NEFA Foundation has obtained a statement from the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (the Taliban) responding to a recent report “claiming that the esteemed Amir-ul-Momineen, Mullah Omar Mujahid had a heart attack and was treated in a hospital in Karachi.” The Taliban “categorically refutes this baseless and fatuous claim and believes that circulation of this rumor, is part and parcel of the propaganda war launched by the enemy.”
